DuraCotton AWESOME Self-Weeding – Borderless – Transfers
Heat Pressing Instructions
Print HEAVY / THICK many OIL + NON-OIL color laser printers, copiers
(NO Jamming in Recommended Printers, Copiers)
Be sure to check Recommended Printer Copier Settings for Your Device
Press 330 – 350 F / 165 – 175 C for 25 seconds, MEDIUM Pressure
REMOVE from Heat Press
Delay Peel 4 – 6 seconds
(clean and easy peel every time given instructions)
PLEASE NOTE: press too hot and excess polymer will drop. Peel too soon and NOTHING will transfer.
OPTIONAL but RECOMMENDED: Press 20 - 30 seconds, after peeling, with silicone / butchers / parchment / brown paper (same temperature, same pressure as above). We use 30 seconds.
HOT PEEL
PLEASE NOTE: a longer second pressing improves wash durability ( from 20 to 30 seconds ). Test for your best results.
Press 390 F / 195 C 20 – 25 seconds heavy pressure on a Manual press (40+ psi) delay 4 – 5 seconds, peel.
Optional though recommended: press again (after peeling) using a Teflon (c) sheet or equivalent – 4 to 6 seconds (same temperature, pressure) – HOT peel
AutoART recommends after peeling placing a Teflon (c) sheet over the image area and pressing again (same temperature, pressure) for 4 to 6 seconds (adjust time to your preferences). This practice improves wash durability, softens the hand as the polymer and color are driven deep into the fiber of the fabric. Though recommended, the second pressing
is NOT required. Settings vary by heat press and operator. It is important to evaluate alternative settings to identify the optimum results based on your specific configuration.
NOTES:
1. experiment with heat press settings (time, pressure, temperature) to
achieve optimum results with your equipment. Best settings vary with
each heat press.
2. paper should peel virtually 100% clean – leaving all color on shirt
- virtually every time results will vary by shirt color. Printer -
Copier Instructions: Printers – copiers vary significantly in fusing
temperature (printer paper settings in print menus) – vary by
manufacturer, by model, by device and by location (electrical grid).

Position DuraCotton HT v2.1 ADVANCED transfer with printed (shinny) side down on shirt
Optional: pre-heat shirt to remove moisture
Press 405 F / 205 C degrees
using HEAVY pressure (40 psi or more)
for 10 – 11 seconds.
Take out of press, shake in the air – you should notice the edge of the paper beginning to release – and peel in the 7 – 8 second range. The paper should peel easily and clean. If the paper cools / the press is not hot enough, then the paper will likely grab hold of the shirt and not release – not an issue – put back in the press for 5 seconds and then peel in 5 seconds.
The end product should look vibrant, should not crack unless under very heavy pressure, …. and the polymer is less visible
If there is toner left on the paper or the paper partially grabs / peeling is not easy, either you need
more pressure or temperature. We assume the time is set correctly.
Note: some press temperature readings are NOT correct; adjust temperature to clean / easy peels at the
7 – 10 second mark.
The end product should look vibrant, should not crack unless under very heavy pressure, ….
Always test to achieve the same results on your equipment. Any issues, AutoART Transfers is ready to help
1. experiment with heat press settings (time, pressure) to achieve invisible polymer – ZERO Cutting, ZERO Hand
2. should peel virtually 100% clean – leaving all color on shirt – virtually every time
